Set up in April 2019 by Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society, this traditional Chinese clinic serves children aged between 3 months old and 16 years old. Funded by the temple and other fund raising activities, the clinicย does not charge for its services, which includes consultation,ย tuina massage and prescription herbal medicine.
Procedure
The clinic doesn’t accept appointments and operates on a walk-in basis. They accept walk-ins until 30 minutes before each session closes.
If visiting for the first time, please bring your child’s birth certificate or have a soft copy on your phone.
During the consultation, Emmett had his breathing and tongue checked, much like at the GP, but here, the physician also checked his pulse.
Next up was the tuina massage. The physicians use some water and flour during their massage. If your child has gluten allergies, you can tell the physicians to skip the flour.
Squirmish at first, Emmett quickly warmed up to the physician and let her massage him. She explained the steps and purpose of the massage.
Please note that your child should not be bathed or wiped down for at least two hours after the massage. I think it’s to prevent wind.
Kids who are ill can visit the clinic twice a week, whereas if you visit more regularly, the physicians will help to regulate the body for better health.
After we exited the clinic, I made a small donation to the temple as a form of support, since the clinic is funded by the temple.
